The short version is that our records exist to run your subscription and nothing else. The longer version, field by field, is below.

The record an order creates

Placing an order writes down four things about you and a handful of things about the subscription. About you: a name, an email address, a phone number and a country. About the subscription: which plan was bought, how many device slots it carries, when it starts and ends, and the credentials generated for it. Orders for a MAG box carry one extra field, the MAC address printed on the box, because a MAG portal identifies a customer by hardware rather than by login.

What the record deliberately leaves out

No card number ever reaches this site. The card is typed inside the gateway frame, checked by your own bank under 3-D Secure, and what comes back to us is a yes or a no plus a reference we can quote if you ever query the charge. Viewing is not logged either. Nobody here can tell you which channel you had on last night, because the question has no answer in our system.

Uses we put it to

Generating and extending a line. Emailing you the details for it. Recognising you when you sign in. Answering a ticket with the order in front of us instead of asking you to repeat yourself. Keeping the transaction records that any business selling anything is obliged to keep. There is no sixth use.

The one cookie

The site sets a single cookie, and only once you have signed in or completed an order. It holds a random session token, which is a meaningless string on its own, rather than anything about you. It carries the HttpOnly and Secure flags, so page scripts cannot read it and it never travels over an unencrypted connection. Nothing on this site advertises, profiles or follows you anywhere else.

Who else sees it

Two systems, both because they have to. The payment gateway, so a charge can be taken and verified. The provisioning platform, so a line can be created against your order. That is the entire list. We have never sold, rented or brokered customer data, and there is no price at which we would start.

How long it stays

Your account and its order history stay for as long as the account is open, and then for the period our accountants need them afterwards. Ask us to close the account and we will delete it, holding back only the transaction records the law requires us to keep and nothing beyond them.

Asking us to act on it

You can ask for a copy of everything the account holds, ask for a field to be corrected, or ask for the whole thing to be removed. Write to [email protected] from the address the account is registered to, which is how we know the request is genuinely yours, and we will action it.

How it is kept safe

Every page and every form on this site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, so a stolen copy of the table would not hand anyone a working login, and not even we can read yours back. Staff access to customer records is granted only to the people who answer tickets, because they are the only people with a reason to look.
