Device setup guides
Six guides, one per family of hardware. Each lists what you need before you begin, the steps in the order they have to happen, and the things that catch people out on that particular platform.
- Your server address, username and password, copied from the account page rather than typed from memory
- The device connected to the network you will actually watch on
- Ten minutes without a queue of people waiting to use the television
Choose your device
Amazon Fire TV Stick
The device we answer most questions about. The install itself is straightforward once the unknown-sources setting is out of the way, which is the part that catches people.
Android phone, tablet, TV box and Google TV
The most forgiving platform of the six. One installer covers a handset, a tablet and a television box, and the settings you may need to change are all in one place.
Samsung Tizen and LG webOS televisions
No sideloading and no extra hardware. Both platforms have suitable players in their own stores, though the televisions themselves are the slowest devices we support.
MAG and Formuler set-top boxes
Different from everything else on this list. There is nothing to install and no password to type, because the box identifies itself to the portal by its hardware address.
Windows PC and laptop
Useful for testing more than for watching. When you need to prove whether a fault is the subscription or the television, a laptop settles it in two minutes.
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV
Apple does not allow installers from outside the App Store, so the approach is different. You choose a player from the store and hand it your subscription details.
The first launch of any player downloads the whole channel list, and on modest hardware that can take three or four minutes with an apparently frozen screen. Leave it. Separately, a login that worked yesterday and fails today is usually an expired subscription, because most players report expiry as an authentication error.
Device not on the list?
If it runs an app that accepts Xtream Codes or an M3U playlist, it will work. That covers nearly everything with a screen, including games consoles running a browser player and older boxes with third-party apps. Tell us the model number and we will confirm before you spend time on it.
